Junior Network Technician | V2X

The Tone:
This is an early career role for a Junior Network Technician at V2X, located at Schriever SFB. Your work will involve assisting senior technicians and engineers in deploying and sustaining both physical and logical network components, which are essential for enabling secure, high-availability communications and IT services for mission-critical operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Network Deployment Support: Assist senior technicians and engineers with the precise placement of infrastructure components, execute pre-configuration tasks, and contribute to site preparation activities required for approved Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) solutions.
• Installation and Equipment Setup: Aid in the physical installation of ISP/OSP cabling, network racks/cabinets, and other equipment, ensuring all work adheres to processes and procedures provided by management or lead engineers.
• Cable Management and Documentation: Perform meticulous cable dressing, accurate labeling of network components, and maintain necessary documentation to ensure clarity and organization within the infrastructure across network operations environments.
• Site Operations and Logistics: Perform essential physical labor at installation sites, including assisting with the movement of equipment, racks, boxes, and pallets, as well as contributing to site cleanup and responsible disposal of waste materials.
• Progress Tracking and Reporting: Diligently track the status of assigned tasks and provide timely updates to management or lead engineers, contributing to efficient project oversight.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A High School Diploma is the foundational educational requirement for this early career role, focused on providing entry-level technical support for critical network infrastructure.
• Experience: Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience performing as a Network Technician. This includes specific experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) projects, particularly those related to network modernization initiatives.
• Skills: Proficiency is required in general user capabilities with various Microsoft software applications, specifically Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams, and SharePoint. Additionally, candidates must be proficient with AutoCAD.
• Clearance: This position mandates an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance, which is a non-negotiable requirement for consideration.
