Job Description: Junior Frontend Engineer

Lexia Learning is seeking a passionate and driven Junior Frontend Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of their myLexia single-page applications (SPAs). This is a fully remote position within the USA (with an Eastern Standard Time schedule preferred).

Responsibilities:

• Develop new views and reports for the myLexia application suite using Angular and Typescript.
• Participate in the ongoing migration of the myLexia application from AngularJS to the latest version of Angular.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to understand specifications and plan development tasks.
• Actively participate in team development processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews, and task refinement.
• Continuously learn and adopt new tools and technologies to enhance skills and impact.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional experience in web application development.
• Familiarity with at least one JavaScript framework (Angular, React, or Vue).
• Experience building and maintaining Single Page Applications (SPAs).
• Experience with modern build tools (Webpack, npm, Vite, Yarn, Grunt).
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Angular and/or Typescript.
• Experience with a frontend component library.
• Experience with backend languages (PHP, Java, C#, or Python).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive learning attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Remote Work Considerations:

Lexia Learning offers a remote-first work environment. Successful candidates must have a reliable internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds) and be comfortable participating in video-based interviews and virtual meetings with their camera on. Reimbursement is provided to help cover home office setup costs.
