This role is perfect for an individual early in their DBA career who is eager to learn, gain hands-on experience, and develop under the guidance of a Senior DBA.

The successful candidate will initially focus on mastering our database monitoring tools and understanding the intricate interactions between software, hardware, and the database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing and maintaining an on-premises SQL Server environment, working closely with a Senior DBA.
  • Provide support for approximately 37 SQL Server instances across both development and production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and support full-stack SQL Server components, including SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Assist with performance monitoring, issue triage, and basic database administration tasks.
  • Perform SQL scripting as required for data imports and various operational requests.

Environment & Technology

  • On-premises SQL Server environment specifically supporting legacy systems (no cloud for these legacy workloads).
  • A mix of physical and virtual servers (predominantly virtualized).
  • Utilization of both SQL Server Standard and Enterprise editions.
  • Approximately 90% production instances and 10% development instances.
  • Full SQL Server stack: SSAS, SSRS, SSIS.
  • Opportunity for exposure to cloud and next-generation platforms (Azure, Synapse, Databricks), though not the immediate primary focus of this specific role.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting SSIS packages is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with SSAS and SSRS is a plus.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL scripting skills; experience importing bulk data (e.g., from Excel) is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of database performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in a DBA role within an on-premises enterprise environment.

Note: No C2C (Corp-to-Corp), relocation assistance, or sponsorship is available for this role.
