Job Description: Junior Data Scientist
Impact: Jacobs is seeking a dedicated Junior Data Scientist to join our Advisory Solutions Group, specifically within the Data Analytics Practice focusing on Federal clients. You will be part of a specialized team delivering data-driven analytical solutions to diverse Federal organizations, enhancing operational efficiency and management effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in various activities, including data collection, database architecture development, statistical analysis, and the creation of insightful visualizations and reports.
• Contribute to Jacobs’ competitive advantage through analytics and data science, supporting both internal projects and external client requirements.
• Be involved in a wide range of analytical services, from basic data processing to complex, interactive decision-support systems tailored to client needs.
• Exhibit a strong interest in the field of data and analytics, showing enthusiasm for developing new data practices/systems and identifying business opportunities.
• Effectively interact with internal teams and clients, providing strategic insights and solutions within defined project or organizational parameters.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Early-career professionals or recent graduates with a foundational skill set in data management, statistics, programming languages, and a keen interest in exploring business process engineering and system integration.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field from an accredited university.
• 2 years of experience in data science or a related field, including academic projects or internships specifically focusing on data analytics. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic proficiency with Python, typescript, or other programming languages.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of or exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of Palantir.
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time CONUS and OCONUS.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Common Access Card.
• United States Citizenship.
