Job Description: Junior Data Scientist
Jacobs is looking for a dedicated Junior Data Scientist to join their Advisory Solutions Group, specifically within the Data Analytics Practice. This role focuses on serving Federal clients, delivering data-driven analytical solutions to various organizations. The goal is to improve operational efficiency and management effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Data Collection and Analysis: Engage in data collection, database architecture development, statistical analysis, and the creation of insightful visualizations and reports.
• Project Support: Contribute to Jacobs’ competitive advantage through analytics and data science, supporting internal projects and external client requirements.
• Analytical Services: Be involved in a wide range of analytical services, from basic data processing to complex, interactive decision-support systems tailored to client needs.
• Strategic Insights: Provide strategic insights and solutions within defined project or organizational parameters.
• Collaboration: Effectively interact with internal teams and clients.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, from an accredited university.
• 2 years of experience in data science or a related field, including academic projects or internships specifically focusing on data analytics (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Basic proficiency with Python, typescript, or other programming languages.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of or exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
• Strongly preferred knowledge of Palantir.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time CONUS and OCONUS.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Common Access Card.
• United States Citizenship.
