Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer | Axiom

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Axiom, for an attorney, comfortable working remotely or in hybrid environments. Axiom pioneers alternative legal services, providing solutions that combine world-class legal talent with advanced AI tools to global legal departments. This role is crucial for supporting high-volume client projects, particularly focusing on supply chain and manufacturing-related contracting work, contributing to scalable legal operations.

• Mission: Provide expert commercial contracting support, focusing on supply chain and manufacturing, to enable client project success and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements including NDAs, MSAs, distribution, supply, procurement, and services agreements.
• Guidance: Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance on contract terms, risk allocation, and negotiation strategy.
• Project Support: Assist clients with large commercial contracting initiatives, such as contract standardization and remediation projects.
• CLM Operations: Support contract lifecycle management efforts, including system implementation, optimization, and ongoing contract operations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (procurement, operations, finance, compliance) to align contracts with business objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: JD or equivalent degree, with active bar membership in good standing. This role is suited for junior to mid-level commercial generalists.
• Experience: 2–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in-house or in a commercial-focused practice, with demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating core commercial contracts.
• Skills: Ability to manage high-volume workloads efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail; strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to international contracts or Japanese-facing clients; experience with CLM system implementation or optimization; or supply chain and/or manufacturing experience, including procurement, vendor, supplier, or operations-driven contracts.
