Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer | Axiom
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Axiom, available remotely or in a hybrid environment. Axiom pioneers alternative legal services, providing world-class legal talent and advanced AI tools to over 1,500 legal departments globally. This position supports high-volume client projects, focusing on supply chain and manufacturing contracts, offering a junior to mid-level attorney the opportunity for impactful commercial work. The role is crucial for delivering scalable legal support and advancing clients’ contracting initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of diverse commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, distribution, supply, procurement, and services agreements, with a specific emphasis on supply chain and manufacturing-related contracts.
• Legal Advisory: Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance on contract terms, risk allocation, and effective negotiation strategies to clients.
• Project Leadership: Assist clients with large-scale commercial contracting initiatives, including contract standardization, remediation projects, and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) implementation and optimization efforts.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders such as procurement, operations, finance, and compliance to ensure contracts align with broader business objectives and support international teams or counterparties as needed.
• Process Enhancement: Contribute to the development of contract playbooks, templates, and process improvements to support scalable and efficient contracting operations and ongoing contract lifecycle management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Doctorate Degree (JD) or equivalent, with active bar membership in good standing; this role is suited for junior to mid-level commercial generalists.
• Experience: 2–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in-house or in a commercial-focused practice; demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating core commercial contracts; experience with CLM system implementation or optimization.
• Skills: Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail; strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills; comfort operating as a generalist across multiple contract types and industries.
• Bonus: Prior experience in supply chain and/or manufacturing environments, including exposure to procurement, vendor, supplier, or operations-driven contracts (SME status not required); international exposure, including supporting international companies, subsidiaries, cross-border contracts, or Japanese-facing clients; experience supporting large-scale commercial contracting projects.
