The Tone:
This is a key entry-level role within the procurement department at Cherokee Nation Entertainment, located in-person in Catoosa, OK. The company operates as the retail, gaming, and entertainment entity of the Cherokee Nation, owning and managing a diverse portfolio of restaurants, entertainment venues, retail shops, hotels, and casinos. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and compliant acquisition of goods and services, directly supporting the company’s operational efficiency and cost-reduction strategies across its extensive business footprint.

• Mission: To ensure efficient and compliant purchasing processes, track purchased items, and assist in cost reduction and process improvements.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, purchasing and inventory specific programs
What You’ll Actually Do
• Processing Orders: Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for a variety of materials, products, and services.
• Issue Resolution: Review purchase order claims for discrepancies and coordinate with leadership to resolve any defects or delivery issues.
• Record Management: Maintain and track comprehensive records of all purchased items, including their costs, delivery schedules, and current inventory levels.
• Payment Coordination: Coordinate the processing of payments for all purchased commodities to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Compliance & Strategy: Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies and applicable laws, while also assisting in developing strategies for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring an Associate’s degree in business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, demonstrating knowledge of business concepts, including purchasing assets and inventory replenishment.
• Experience: Requires zero (0) to two (2) years of direct purchasing experience, with practical understanding of the acquisition of assets and the replenishment of inventory.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to quickly learn and adapt to specific purchasing and inventory management programs, excellent verbal, written, and communication skills, and the capacity to identify problems, review information, and develop and implement effective solutions.
