The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Solar Landscape, located at their headquarters in Asbury Park, NJ. Solar Landscape is a leading commercial rooftop solar developer dedicated to transforming rooftops into local power plants for clean energy. This role supports the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting processes, and directly contributes to Solar Landscape’s mission of accelerating clean energy adoption across the nation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and record month-end and other required journal entries accurately and timely.
• Account Analysis: Compile and analyze account information to prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries.
• Transaction Review: Review and reconcile monthly transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies.
• Cash Management: Perform bank reconciliations daily to maintain accurate cash records.
• Process Improvement: Develop and continuously improve accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
• Audit Support: Support external audit processes by preparing work papers, schedules, and reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Bonus: Exposure to real estate or solar energy project fund accounting; experience with Microsoft BusinessCentral or Dynamics 365.
