This 6-month opportunity is for individuals serious about building a career in social media and digital content, designed to develop future Social Media Managers, Content Producers, and Digital Strategists within a real-time media environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Curate and draft engaging, platform-specific social posts with scroll-stopping captions aligned with the editorial voice.
• Trend Spotting: Identify and source trending entertainment and lifestyle content to maintain audience relevance and engagement.
• Graphic & Video Design: Create Canva graphics using existing templates and assist with short-form video edits for various platforms.
• Content Repurposing: Transform existing editorial articles and YouTube clips into high-performing social content.
• Event Coverage: Capture social content at select Chicago-based events when applicable.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career individual committed to a 6-month term, pursuing academic credit or professional development in digital media.
• Experience: Minimum of one year in social media, content creation, or digital marketing, demonstrating consistent deadline adherence and organizational skills.
• Skills: Advanced, non-negotiable proficiency in Canva, strong writing abilities with an understanding of platform voice, and knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and lifestyle media.
• Bonus: Preference for Chicago-based candidates who are comfortable being on camera or willing to develop this skill, and are available for occasional event content capture.
