Job Cost Accountant | Aldridge Electric

• Mission: Ensure the integrity of financial data by managing the full life cycle of cost codes, project setup, and accurate budget and change order records.
• Tech Stack: MS Excel, CMiC
What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Code Management: Open, maintain, and close specific cost codes across active projects to ensure accurate tracking of labor, materials, and equipment.
• Financial Accuracy: Review and process transfers of incorrect charges to ensure costs are applied to the right codes and projects.
• Project Setup: Initiate new projects in the company’s ERP system based on contract awards, ensuring alignment with project management and estimating teams.
• Record Maintenance: Update project records and phases throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Estimating, and Risk.
• Provide Backup Support: Learn and assist with inputting contract modifications, change orders, and initial project budgets or revisions during peak periods.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level role; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is preferred. An Associate’s degree with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience, with on-the-job training provided.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel (including vlookup, formulas, and data sorting); A sharp eye for numbers and data entry accuracy; Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Bonus: Prior internships or exposure to the construction/engineering industry; Familiarity with construction accounting software CMiC.
