About the Company:

Disney Theatrical Group (DTG) is a branch of the Walt Disney Company responsible for the theatrical productions of Disney properties. This internship is within their Business Affairs and Legal Counsel department and the Labor Relations department.

Job Description:

This is a full-time, paid summer associate position (May 27, 2025 – August 8, 2025) located in New York City. The role is designed to provide law students with practical experience in both business affairs and labor relations within the entertainment industry.

The position will primarily focus on the Business Affairs and Legal Counsel department, with a dedicated day each week spent in the Labor Relations department.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting attorneys with contract drafting and review, including responding to and discussing comments.
• Updating and creating databases of deal summaries.
• Developing a library of template contract provisions and contracts.
• Conducting legal research related to contracts, deal precedents, and collective bargaining agreements.
• Collaborating with other Disney legal departments to gather information and support legal analysis.
• Supporting arbitration hearings through legal research and exhibit preparation.
• Coordinating with DTG business units on proposals for upcoming collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations.

Required Skills:

• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

• Coursework in copyright, entertainment business, entertainment law, or intellectual property.
• Interest in entertainment business or entertainment law, particularly theatre.

The internship requires a full-time commitment (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9 am – 6 pm EST) and the candidate must secure their own housing in the New York City area and arrange their own transportation. The hourly pay rate is $41.40, with potential for additional benefits.
