The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ESFM, located in Chicago, IL. ESFM, the corporate Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) division of Compass Group USA, is dedicated to elevating the workplace experience. The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full time schedules; Wednesday – Saturday, 10:00 pm – 8:30 am.
• Location: In-person, Chicago, IL
• Pay: $16.60 per hour
• Mission: Keep buildings clean and orderly by performing heavy cleaning duties to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash and waste materials, following approved procedures and infection control plans to maintain hygienic standards.
• General Area Cleaning: Dust and damp mop floors, wash walls, windows, furniture, and baseboards, and sanitize all assigned surfaces using specified materials and equipment.
• Floor and Carpet Care: Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish hard floors, and shampoo carpets to preserve their appearance and extend their lifespan.
• Proactive Maintenance: Seek out areas requiring cleaning, take initiative to complete tasks, and move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning, returning them to correct placement.
• Compliance and Support: Perform all cleaning tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines, and complete all additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates for this role should possess a foundational understanding of cleaning principles and practices, suitable for a physically demanding role in facility maintenance. While no specific educational degree is listed, practical experience in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various environments is beneficial.
• Experience: This position prefers candidates with 2 years of prior experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform heavy cleaning duties, including floor care (stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, shampooing) and surface cleaning (dusting, mopping, washing walls and glass). Proficiency in utilizing assigned cleaning equipment and materials, and adherence to specific cleaning protocols such as infection control plans and an eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Bonus: Prior experience specifically within a warehouse setting, which is preferred for this role.
