Job Description: IT Summer Internship

Equitable is seeking outstanding student leaders for its IT Summer Internship program (June 2025 – August 2025). This internship offers valuable experience and could lead to a full-time position upon graduation. The program provides training and practical experience in various IT areas, fostering the development of future technology leaders.

Program Highlights:

Experience: Gain practical experience in a chosen IT functional area: Programming, Systems Analysis, Infrastructure, Data Analysis, End User Support, or Cybersecurity.
Career Advancement: Successful completion may lead to a full-time offer post-graduation.
Training: Receive training on industry best practices and processes.
Exposure: Gain a broad understanding of IT and its various business applications within Equitable.
Teamwork: Collaborate with project teams and contribute to department-wide initiatives.
Presentation Skills: Participate in the development and delivery of an executive presentation.
Mentorship: Build relationships with management at all levels.
Project Involvement: Support company-wide projects, engaging in tasks such as data analysis, software development, unit testing, and project deliverable implementation.
Networking: Dedicated time for networking and training.

Typical Assignments:

• Involvement in and assistance with department-wide, cutting-edge initiatives.
• Project support for various company-wide projects.
• Collaboration with a diverse team in a matrix organization.
• Supporting team members with project tasks (data model analysis, software development, unit testing, etc.).

Location & Schedule:

• Syracuse, NY or Charlotte, NC
• Hybrid/flexible work environment (2 days per week in the office)

Compensation:

$25/hour

Qualifications:

• Desired Majors: Computer Science, Cyber Security, Management Information Systems, Mathematics.
• Participation in extracurricular activities and leadership roles preferred.
• Strong project management, analytical, and technical skills (specifically Java/Python).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to commit to the full 9-week program.
