IT Summer Internship: Helpdesk/IT Operations | TekSynap
The Tone:
This is an internship at TekSynap, located in Reston, VA. TekSynap is a fast-growing high-tech company that provides comprehensive information management environments to Federal Government customers. This role offers current college students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government contracting while supporting a company that values initiative and innovation. The intern will contribute to essential IT operations, learning how technology supports business needs and government requirements.

• Mission: To support IT operations and helpdesk functions, contributing to the management of enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements within a government contracting environment.
• Tech Stack: ServiceNow, Microsoft 365
What You’ll Actually Do
• Workflow Assistance: Learn and assist with ServiceNow workflows, including handling tickets, tracking tasks, and documenting processes.
• Enterprise Exposure: Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise Microsoft 365 environments and understand how they are managed at scale.
• Endpoint Support: Support endpoint management activities, including ensuring device compliance and performing basic troubleshooting.
• Cybersecurity Understanding: Develop an understanding of how IT operations integrate with cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Foundational Learning: Learn foundational concepts related to capacity planning, demand forecasting, and service delivery metrics used in IT operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be a current college student with the legal right to work in the United States.
• Experience: Available for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2025.
• Skills: Ability to obtain a Security Clearance; within local commuting distance to Reston, VA.
• Bonus: Preference given to juniors and seniors.
