About the Role:

Join the Steel Dynamics team as an IT Service Desk Support Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in providing essential technical assistance to our end users. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment. You will be responsible for resolving technical issues, managing IT assets, and contributing to the deployment of new IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive IT service desk support, engaging directly with end users to resolve technical tickets efficiently and effectively.
  • Deploy and support new computer setups, ensuring seamless integration and functionality for all users.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of software and hardware issues, meticulously documenting all resolutions for future reference.
  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date IT documentation, contributing to a robust knowledge base.
  • Perform and document software and hardware inventory, ensuring precise tracking and management of IT assets.
  • Recommend, configure, test, and deploy configuration packages, specifically utilizing Desktop Management Products such as Desktop Central.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Information Systems or a closely related field.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7 or above.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, essential for successful interaction with employees at all levels, including management.
  • Possess strong comprehension skills, enabling quick understanding and effective problem-solving.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to establish priorities effectively and manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
