Job Description: IT Internships & Co-ops:
MPC’s Information Technology (ITS) department provides internships and co-ops offering experience in a competitive work environment focused on efficient and innovative solutions. Opportunities are diverse, potentially spanning multiple sessions, allowing for valuable real-world experience and skill enhancement in one or more of the following areas:
• Business Systems Analysis Intern: This role involves acting as a liaison between IT and business units, translating business requirements into the development, implementation, and enhancement of systems. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating new IT capabilities, recommending solutions, developing quality assurance processes, and managing incident management execution.
• Software Development Intern: This position focuses on designing, developing, testing, debugging, building, and deploying software for enterprise-wide or Marathon-specific solutions. Responsibilities include identifying and documenting technical design requirements, leveraging software engineering patterns, performing code reviews, and participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Cybersecurity Intern: This role involves evaluating, testing, monitoring, and maintaining IT and OT cybersecurity policies and procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to identity management processes, identifying security risks, suggesting preventative measures, conducting risk assessments and compliance audits, investigating and remediating security incidents, and identifying potential cybersecurity threats.
• Network Engineering Intern: This position requires expertise in developing, implementing, and managing public and private networks. Responsibilities include supporting and maintaining LANs/WANs, analyzing network performance, and resolving technical issues.
• Cloud Engineering Intern: This role supports the development and execution of cloud strategy within Marathon’s IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include implementing Marathon’s cloud strategy from a technical perspective (design, planning, integration, automation, maintenance, and support) and working with stakeholders to evaluate public and private cloud systems.
Qualifications:
• Desired Majors: Computer Science & Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering Technology; Management Information Systems; Computer Information Systems; Information Systems & Analytics; Computer Engineering; Software Engineering and Computer Science; and other related IT disciplines.
• Strong academic performance
• Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program throughout the internship/co-op.
• Military experience is a plus.
• Pay: Min – $23.08 per hour/Max – $26.92 per hour
