Job Description: IT Internships and Co-ops

MPC’s Information Technology (ITS) department offers various internship and co-op opportunities providing valuable experience in a competitive work environment while delivering efficient and innovative solutions. Interns may have multiple sessions and opportunities, gaining real-world experience and enhancing skills. Available positions include:

Business Systems Analysis Intern: This role involves acting as a liaison between IT and business units, translating business needs into system development, implementation, and enhancement. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating new IT capabilities, recommending solutions, developing quality assurance processes, and managing incident management.

Software Development Intern: This intern will design, develop, test, debug, build, and deploy software for enterprise-wide or Marathon-specific solutions. Responsibilities include documenting technical requirements, leveraging software engineering patterns, conducting code reviews, and participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Cybersecurity Intern: This position focuses on evaluating, testing, monitoring, and maintaining IT and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity policies and procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to identity management, identifying security risks, suggesting preventative measures, conducting risk assessments and compliance audits, investigating and remediating security incidents, and identifying threat actors and their methods.

Network Engineering Intern: This role involves developing, implementing, and managing public and private networks. Responsibilities include supporting and maintaining LANs/WANs, analyzing network performance, and resolving technical issues.

Cloud Engineering Intern: This intern will support the development and execution of cloud strategy within Marathon’s IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include design, planning, integration, automation, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture, and evaluating public and private cloud systems.

Qualifications:

• Desired majors include Computer Science & Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering Technology; Management Information Systems; Computer Information Systems; Information Systems & Analytics; Computer Engineering; Software Engineering and Computer Science; and other related IT disciplines.
• Strong academic performance is required.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without needing employment visa sponsorship.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program is necessary throughout the internship/co-op.
• Military experience is a plus.
• Pay range: $23.08 – $26.92 per hour
