IT Internship at Humana

Humana’s IT Internship program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the IT landscape within a leading healthcare organization. The internship offers practical experience in various IT fields, including:

Project Management
Agile Methodologies
Software Engineering
Cloud Engineering
Data Science/Analytics/Visualization
User Experience (UI/UX)
Machine Learning
Cyber Security Initiatives

The internship program is primarily hosted in-person at Humana’s Headquarters in Louisville, KY, providing a rich experience of the company culture and direct mentorship from industry leaders. Remote opportunities are also available based on individual circumstances.

Interns will act as apprentices while completing their formal education. They will:

• Interpret area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Work within defined parameters to meet work expectations and quality standards.
• Have some latitude over prioritization and timing of tasks.
• Work under minimal direction.
• Follow standard policies and practices while having opportunities for interpretation/deviation and independent discretion.

What To Expect During the 12-week Internship Program:

Onboarding and Orientation
Working closely with seasoned leaders during your assigned project
Attending executive-level presentations and developmental workshops
Strong support circle including direct leaders, program managers, and mentors.
Access to training and development opportunities
Intern-led committees including Hackathon, Inspire Health, Volunteering, and more
Access to Network Resources Groups (NRGs)
Housing provided for Louisville-based interns

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $31,200 – $85,100 per year (based on geographic location and demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.)
