Job Description: IT Intern

The IT Intern position is designed to provide support to end users across various issues. This role acts as the first point of contact for most end-user inquiries, responding to requests received via telephone calls, email, and in-person. The intern is responsible for documenting, tracking, and monitoring problems to ensure timely resolution.

The role involves supporting, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting hardware and software problems related to the end-user infrastructure. This includes installing, maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Additionally, the IT Intern will help support and maintain user account information, including application permissions, resource rights, and overall security.

IT Intern Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to employees by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems.
Monitor and maintain the company’s IT systems to ensure they are functioning properly and efficiently.
• Assist in the implementation of new IT initiatives, such as software upgrades and new hardware installations.
Create and maintain documentation of IT processes and procedures.
• Participate in IT meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices.
• Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.
Installs, troubleshoots and supports end-user hardware and peripherals.
Installs, troubleshoots and supports application software.
Troubleshoots and supports end-user network connectivity, including application and Internet connectivity.
• Utilizes a ticketing system to create, track, and resolve all support issues.
• Works with other groups in IT to support end-user connectivity to server and network infrastructure and applications.
• Other duties as assigned.

IT Intern Requirements:

Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively with end-users of various technical skill levels.
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
Analytical skills that allow for the interpretation of customer/user needs into practical solutions.
Good Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop OS and Microsoft Office.
Good Knowledge of typical end-user hardware, including Dell systems.
Good knowledge of Android and iOS phones, tablets, and other portable devices.
