IP Litigation Paralegal | Busby Park Recruiting LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a large, top-tier law firm, located in Dallas, TX. This firm provides specialized legal counsel in prominent and complex intellectual property litigation matters. This role is crucial for supporting a stellar team of attorneys and paralegals, ensuring the efficient and effective management of high-stakes IP cases.

• Mission: To assist with all aspects of litigation and case management for complex IP matters, working closely with attorneys and paralegals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Document Preparation: Prepare and assist with pleadings, court filings, blue book court briefs, and exhibits for various legal proceedings.
• Discovery Management: Oversee and assist with all phases of discovery, e-discovery, document review, and production processes.
• Case Research and Support: Conduct comprehensive legal research, perform detailed cite checking, and manage case calendaring.
• Hearing and Trial Assistance: Provide full support during hearings, depositions, trial preparation, trials, and arbitrations.
• Overall Case Management: Contribute to the general administration and oversight of all litigation and case management activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate. At least 5 years of complex IP litigation experience gained at a large firm. Proficiency with patent terminology, citations, obtaining patents, and experience with cases related to the USPTO Patent Center.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of complex IP litigation experience within a large firm environment. Specific experience handling matters related to the USPTO Patent Center, including patent terminology, citations, and the process of obtaining patents.
• Skills: Strong computer and technology skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, iManage, Adobe Acrobat, Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, online databases, litigation support/e-discovery platforms, and AI tools. Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Bonus: Experience with Hatch-Waxman IP litigation, life sciences IP litigation, and Markman hearings. Experience handling matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Federal Circuit is highly desired. A college degree is preferred.
