Investment Management Summer Analyst Program – Equity Research (New York)

General Description:

The Investment Management Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week program consisting of one week of training and nine weeks working within a specific Investment Management team. The curriculum is designed to equip Summer Analysts with the fundamental skills needed to be successful in Investment Management. Throughout the program, Summer Analysts experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley by performing a role similar to a Full-Time Analyst.

This specific role within the MSIM Active Fundamental Equity group will involve working directly with portfolio managers, analysts, and research associates on research projects throughout the summer.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support: Assist portfolio managers, equity analysts, and research associates in their daily work.
Research: Provide basic research on sectors, industries, companies, and countries as needed.
Meetings: Attend equity research meetings, company meetings, and industry specialist meetings.
Projects: Work on special projects within the Equity Department.
Data Systems: Learn to use various market data systems effectively, including Bloomberg, FactSet, and Thomson-Reuters products.
Model Preparation: Assist in preparing models from data in company filings and complex spreadsheets using 10Ks, 10Qs, Income Statement, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statement.
Data Extraction: Extract specific data needed from financial reports and databases to prepare or update models relating to specific industries and Companies followed by analysts.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as requested.

Job Requirements:

Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to function independently and collaborate effectively, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently and effectively, detail-oriented, accurate, and reliable.

Compensation:

• Expected base pay rate for the role will be $52.89 per hour at the commencement of employment.
• The total compensation package may also include discretionary bonuses and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
