Investment Management Summer Analyst Program

This program is a 10-week intensive experience, comprising one week of training and nine weeks of hands-on work within a specific IM team. The curriculum is carefully crafted to equip Summer Analysts with the foundational skills crucial for success in the field of investment management. Throughout the program, Summer Analysts are immersed in the Morgan Stanley culture, assuming responsibilities akin to those of a Full-Time Analyst.

Equity Research Role

This specific role within the MSIM Active Fundamental Equity group offers direct collaboration with portfolio managers, analysts, and research associates on research projects spanning the summer.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide support to portfolio managers, equity analysts, and research associates in their daily tasks.
• Conduct fundamental research as needed, focusing on sectors, industries, companies, and countries.
• Participate in equity research meetings, company meetings, and industry specialist meetings.
• Contribute to special projects within the Equity Department.
• Develop proficiency in using various market data systems, including Bloomberg, FactSet, and Thomson-Reuters products.
• Assist in building models from data found in company filings and complex spreadsheets, leveraging 10Ks, 10Qs, Income Statement, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Extract specific data from financial reports and databases to prepare or update models relevant to industries and companies under analyst observation.
• Fulfill additional tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, encompassing both verbal and written forms.
• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and reliable.

Compensation

The expected base pay rate for this role is $52.89 per hour upon commencement of employment. This base pay constitutes only a portion of the total compensation package, which may also include discretionary bonuses and other Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefit programs, depending on the specific position.
