Job Description

The Investment Management Summer Analyst Program is an intensive, 10-week experience. It begins with a week of dedicated training and then transitions into nine weeks of hands-on work within a specific IM team. The program’s curriculum is crafted to equip Summer Analysts with the foundational skills essential for success in investment management. Throughout the program, these analysts immerse themselves in the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley, undertaking tasks similar to those of a Full-Time Analyst.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in gathering data and developing investment analytics using quantitative methods.
Reporting and Metrics: Create templates and performance reports that deliver key metrics for management review.
Investment Research: Conduct investment research (under the supervision of senior investment analysts) with the goal of making investment recommendations for various portfolios.
Credit Analysis: Collaborate with Bank Loan credit analysts to gain a deep understanding of underlying credits and offer optimized solutions for specific metrics.
Ad hoc Projects: Contribute to various ad hoc projects as needed.

Job Requirements

Academic Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
Academic Performance: Maintain a strong academic record.
Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical capabilities.
Communication & Time Management: Exhibit excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Work Ethic: Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency: Be proficient in MS Office applications, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Compensation

The expected base pay rate for this role is $52.89 per hour at the start of employment. However, it’s important to note that base pay is only a part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position, other components may include discretionary bonuses and access to various Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefit programs.
