About the Job: Investment Intern – Real Estate Team
About Aquarian
Aquarian Holdings (“Aquarian”) is a dynamic and diversified global holding company, strategically focused on building a robust portfolio of insurance and asset management solutions. Since its inception in 2017, Aquarian has demonstrated a strong commitment to growth and value creation across its two core pillars:
-
Aquarian Insurance Holdings: Specializes in acquiring and operating insurance companies, with a primary focus on life and annuity underwriting. The strategy centers on expanding balance sheet profitability through new insurance/reinsurance ventures, optimizing investment income, and streamlining operations.
- Key Milestones: Launched in 2017, finalized its first investment in 2018 with Investors Heritage (a regional life insurer), and subsequently deepened its expertise through the acquisitions of Hudson Life and Annuity Company (2021) and Somerset Re (2022). These acquisitions have solidified Aquarian’s presence and capabilities in the insurance and reinsurance sectors.
- Aquarian Investments: This division complements the insurance operations by integrating best practices from leading financial services firms with its unique strategic approach and organizational culture. Aquarian Investments has significantly expanded its footprint into alternative assets and private credit, evidenced by the launches of Aquarian Liquid Credit, Aquarian Strategic Opportunities, Aquarian Private Credit, and Aquarian Real Estate Partners.
Aquarian has rapidly grown its business to approximately $25.8 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM), supported by a team of 40 investment professionals, multiple funds, and a suite of insurance and reinsurance companies. All efforts are dedicated to delivering meaningful investment opportunities to millions of people.
A significant milestone was announced in November 2025, with Aquarian signing a definitive merger agreement to acquire Brighthouse Financial in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $4.1 billion. Brighthouse, one of the largest providers of annuities and life insurance in the U.S. with approximately $208 billion of AUM, is anticipated to operate as a standalone entity within the Aquarian portfolio post-closing in 2026, further cementing Aquarian’s market leadership.
