Detailed Job Description: Investment Intern

This job opportunity is for an Investment Intern at WTW within its Investment business. The role emphasizes working within a collaborative team alongside industry professionals such as consultants, researchers, and portfolio managers. The ultimate mission is to create better and more sustainable outcomes for plan beneficiaries.

Key Exposure and Functions for Interns:
As an Investment intern, you will gain exposure across multiple functions, specifically:

Content:
• Working to identify and construct portfolios featuring the best investment ideas for clients.
• Following the manager research process to develop insights on investment strategies across various asset classes.
• Leveraging these insights, combined with top-down and asset class research and analytics, to build portfolios for clients. This could involve multi-asset frameworks or asset-class-specific portfolios (e.g., equities, alternative credit, real assets, liquid alternatives).
Client Consulting:
• Supporting client teams responsible for managing client relationships.
• Offering best-in-class investment advice and innovative solutions.
• Working on client projects which may include: investment strategy development, liability hedging, portfolio construction, investment performance calculations, investment manager searches and selection, portfolio and investment manager monitoring, and preparing materials for client meetings.

Skill Development and Learning:
WTW supports its interns in developing a broad spectrum of technical and soft skills. This includes:
• Training provided by subject matter experts.
• Working on a variety of projects across different functions and teams.
• Opportunities to network with colleagues within and beyond the Investment team.
The breadth of knowledge gained across the investment spectrum will help interns identify and explore their areas of greatest interest. There are also opportunities to contribute to the development of intellectual capital and other Investment business initiatives.

Work Arrangement and Location:
This is an in-office or hybrid role, requiring presence in the office at least three days each week. The position will be based in one of the following WTW offices:
Pittsburgh, PA
Atlanta, GA
Chicago, IL
New York, NY
• *Note:• Atlanta and Pittsburgh offices will only support Client Consulting hires for long-term positions.

Contract Dates:
The internship contract dates are from Tuesday, May 26, 2026 to Friday, July 31, 2026.

Qualifications (Role Requirements):
Education: Progress towards a bachelor’s degree.
GPA: A minimum GPA of 3.0, as shown on the resume (no specific major/minor is required).
Professional Development: A strong desire and commitment to complete the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 professional qualification.
Teamwork: Proactive team player.
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Project Management: Project management skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
Interest: A strong desire to learn and a general interest in financial markets.
Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar).
Location: Must be local to one of the specified WTW offices for the hybrid position.
Graduation Timeline: Accepting applications from candidates who are expected to graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree between December 2026 through June 2027.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: The hourly rate offered for this role is $26-$28.75 USD. This role is also eligible for overtime pay. Compensation may vary based on factors such as location, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, and performance.
