Investment Consulting Graduate Internship Program | NEPC
The Tone:
This is an internship at NEPC, located in Boston, MA (hybrid). NEPC is a full-service investment consulting firm focused on helping clients build successful investment programs by using diverse and proven strategies to enhance returns while minimizing risk. The TL;DR

• Pay: $30–$40 hourly
• Team: Works on project teams within Investment Manager Research, Taft-Hartley, Public Funds, Portfolio Construction, and OCIO.
• Mission: This person solves problems by contributing to meaningful, project-based work that drives positive investment outcomes for clients, enhances brand visibility, and identifies new business opportunities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Lead research initiatives focused on liquid real assets to develop educational materials and portfolio implementation recommendations for diverse client bases.
• Analysis: Conduct market canvassing projects to identify medium to large retirement plans, map the competitive landscape, and determine key decision-makers for new business opportunities.
• Communication: Evaluate and enhance the effective communication of NEPC’s institutional-quality research and materials to Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and their end clients.
• Monitoring: Support the Portfolio Construction team in developing a repeatable process to analyze and monitor portfolios across the client base, identifying key trends and insights.
• Collaborate: Partner with internal consultants, investment, and compliance teams to organize findings, refine conclusions, brainstorm strategies, and present findings to senior team members.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing an MBA or master’s degree, preferably in Finance or Economics.
• Experience: At least a year of prior professional exposure to the investment industry.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to learn.
• Bonus: Experience with Python, R, or AI-enabled analytical tools.
