Job Description: Investment Banking Intern

This internship offers a high level of responsibility within a specific industry or product-focused team. Under administrative direction, interns work with various financial products, including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory. The internship is designed to enhance financial analysis skills, build understanding of capital markets and clients, and foster idea generation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop financial models to assess debt and equity financing alternatives for transactions.
• Perform valuation methodologies (e.g., comparative company analysis, discounted cash flow analysis) on target companies.
• Contribute input to equity offerings, valuations, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions advisories.
• Research, analyze, present, and document drafting elements of developing transactions.
• Collaborate with Senior Bankers to develop client presentations.
• Monitor current events in relevant industry groups to inform Bankers of critical news impacting current and prospective clients.
• Maintain group databases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge: Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Investment Banking; fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry; financial markets and products.
Skills: Effective oral and written communication; analytical skills to assess and explain market events; problem-solving; proficiency with standard office equipment and software (including Microsoft Office and established databases); ability to gather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to reports; attention to detail with a big-picture perspective; ability to work independently and collaboratively; responsibility and accountability; ethical adherence; proactiveness; ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Education/Experience: Must be legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship. Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications: None required.
