1st Shift Inventory Intern | Daifuku
The Tone:
This is a Full Time 1st Shift Summer Internship at Daifuku, a manufacturing company that is a leading U.S.-based provider of intelligent material handling systems. With hundreds of in-house engineers, Daifuku designs, manufactures, integrates, and installs a full spectrum of intralogistics solutions, including conveyor and sortation systems, robotics, and order fulfillment equipment. In this role, the Inventory Intern will play a vital part in maintaining the inventory database and ensuring daily stock levels meet operational and distribution needs for these complex systems. This position is crucial for driving productivity efficiency and supporting the seamless flow of parts required for Daifuku’s industry-leading performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

• Mission: To maintain the inventory database and ensure daily inventory levels meet distribution and operational needs, supporting the company’s material handling solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain database accuracy: Input data into the inventory database regarding quantities of issued, transferred, and in-stock parts.
• Resolve inventory issues: Investigate and resolve inventory shortage discrepancies and missing stock parts needed for work orders and sales orders.
• Manage physical inventory: Receive manufactured parts into stock, issue them to upcoming jobs, and consolidate them to maximize shelf space.
• Conduct audits: Perform audits of inventory locations to verify part and count accuracy, including work order and 3-Stage put away checks.
• Support team efficiency: Assist in daily tasks to assure productivity efficiency and maintain an updated shortage list for the Inventory Management team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Intern level, requiring a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and foundational knowledge in inventory control.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in inventory control.
• Skills: Strong computer literacy including MS Office, accurate data entry, excellent organizational capabilities, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
