Job Description: Internship – Supporting Strategic Initiatives in Parts Business
This internship provides support for the implementation of strategic concepts and projects aimed at helping the parts business team achieve its objectives. The role involves significant collaboration with various stakeholders across the organization, including multiple business units within PCNA (Porsche Cars North America), the logistics organization, and teams in Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Project Support: The intern will support the execution of multiple projects and initiatives, focusing on areas such as local product sourcing, parts supply chain continuous improvement and risk reduction. Active participation in ongoing team projects is expected.
• Process Improvement and Automation: This role includes ideation around modernizing systems and processes, with an emphasis on automation to enhance efficiency and sustainable growth while maintaining a customer focus. The intern will contribute to a culture of process documentation and work instruction. A continuous improvement mindset, embodying the “leave it better than you found it” ethos, is crucial.
• Project Management Support: Responsibilities include supporting project documentation (meeting minutes, reports, presentations), identifying and reporting potential risks, assisting with planning and scheduling, and aligning day-to-day tactical work with the department’s strategic vision. The intern will also assist in ensuring project structure and accountability, working closely with the Parts Planning Manager and team business owners.
• Meeting Management and Communication: The intern will lead in organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and following up on action items. They will also contribute to objective setting optimization and automation (internally and for dealers).
• Data Analysis and Reporting: The intern will work with large-scale data to build reporting solutions, demonstrating these solutions through proof-of-concepts and presenting them to stakeholders. They will collaborate with internal teams to translate business requirements into technical designs, building scalable and sustainable reporting solutions with a focus on future automation.
Qualifications:
• Required: Minimum Senior-level undergraduate studies.
• Preferred: Postgraduate studies; Undergraduate degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, or Data Analytics.
Skills & Attributes:
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strategic and continuous improvement mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools – Project for the Web preferred).
• Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding and application of project methodology.
• Experience with large-scale data and reporting solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple groups at various levels.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
Other Requirements:
• No travel required.
• Must be able to commute to One Porsche Drive on weekdays.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work effectively in an open office environment.
