Are you an Industrial Engineering student looking for an exciting internship opportunity?
Our Real Estate and Facility Services department seeks a motivated student to join our team and help us analyze the maintenance calls for our site in Venlo. This internship will allow you to work closely with our RE&FS team and other important stakeholders to analyze the data and develop a plan for the future.
Your Assignment:
• You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of real estate while contributing to the success of our department.
• The ideal candidate for this internship is an Electrical- or Mechanical student who is a team player and interested in the different aspects of the constructional, electrical- and mechanical installations of buildings. You should possess good written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable working in a team environment.
• You will be responsible for researching and analyzing the maintenance calls data, identifying areas for improvement, and developing new strategies for optimizing our approach for (preventive) maintenance.
• Within Canon Production Printing Netherlands B.V. (CPPN) the department Real Estate and Facility Services is responsible for all facilities and infrastructure related to the buildings and facilities of CPPN. The Real Estate team carries out all activities related to maintenance of the buildings, installations and infrastructure.
• Part of the maintenance activities is the registration and handling of calls reported by our employees. In total there are about 3.000 calls per year concerning malfunctions of buildings, installations or infrastructure. These calls are registered in a system called Topdesk.
• In this assignment, you will analyze these calls and advise on how we can decrease the amount of calls. For instance, do we have the right ratio between corrective and preventive maintenance? Do we have to organize things in a different way? Besides analyzing the facts and figures, we also encourage you strongly to investigate and evaluate the current organization structure regarding these calls and the way of working both from our contractors and the internal organization and come up with improvement proposals.
• This assignment allows you to show what you are capable of as a maintenance engineer. It will give you a good insight into how Canon has organized the maintenance activities on the Venlo site.
