What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate: Assist with the study and evaluation of internal accounting controls.
• Prepare: Prepare financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Examine: Examine client reconciliations of bank accounts and investigate discrepancies, as well as subsidiary accounts to controls.
• Schedule: Prepare schedules for computations of accruals, documenting underlying support, and for write-offs of prepaid expenses and deferred charges.
• Support Tax: Assist in the review of tax preparations, including reviewing data input, identifying and resolving technical tax issues, and researching various tax matters for senior staff.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in college pursuing a degree with a major or concentration in accounting. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Demonstrated commitment to developing a well-rounded knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), along with a working knowledge of federal and state income tax laws and regulations.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS).
• Working knowledge of federal and state income tax laws and regulations.
• Established practice of accuracy in dealing with information (numeric and alphabetic).
• Ability to speak and write effectively.
