About Hoar
Hoar Construction is seeking qualified applicants for their Internship Program for the Fall 2025 term. This internship offers exposure to various aspects of the construction process, including estimating, project management, and field operations.
Job Description: Internship Program
This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in the construction industry. Interns will contribute to various project phases, working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Duties:
• Understanding the Construction Process: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the construction lifecycle from inception to completion.
• Quantity Takeoff/Quantity Estimating: Participate in the process of quantifying materials and estimating costs for construction projects.
• Submittal Process Management: Maintain logs, review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and compliance, and facilitate approvals.
• Project Documentation: Prepare transmittals for the distribution of project-related documents.
• Jobsite Assistance: Assist in jobsite setup, permitting procedures, and project closeout activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the spring semester.
• Completed college freshman year.
• Demonstrated desire to pursue a career in the construction industry upon graduation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets.
• Willingness to handle responsibility.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
The role may involve both indoor and outdoor work environments, with potential exposure to various weather conditions. Physical requirements include the ability to stand or sit for extended periods, occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting light to moderate amounts of weight.
