Program Overview: Acuity Brands Internship Program

Are you a motivated and talented individual seeking an opportunity to excel and grow into a dynamic leader? The Acuity Brands Internship Program offers an exceptional experience!

This program is a 10–12-week immersive experience (typically May – August), requiring 40 hours/week. It is meticulously designed to cultivate high-potential candidates through hands-on projects and real-world experiences, enabling interns to align their strengths and interests with the strategic needs of the business. Interns will contribute to impactful projects and transformative processes, gaining valuable experience and having the chance to network with leaders across Acuity Brands.

Preference is given to interns who have one or two semesters remaining in their degree program. This is because such candidates will be eligible for Acuity’s Leadership Program upon successful completion of the internship. The Leadership Program is a full-time, entry-level rotational program for recent graduates, offering opportunities to explore various functional domains, expand skill sets, build an internal network, and discover passions early in their careers.

Work Flexibility:
This is an Onsite position in Crawfordsville, IN.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
While specific projects and activities may vary, interns can expect to:

  • Dive deep into data, mapping processes and identifying problems.
  • Offer and test potential solutions, then implement the most effective one(s).
  • Interact with highly efficient managers, technology development teams, and front-line Associates, engaging in broad thinking about solutions to complex business and operational challenges faced by one of the largest lighting companies.
  • Actively research and propose new technologies for manufacturing processes.

Projects:
Interns will be involved in significant projects, including:

  • Digital Focus Factory Suite 3: Contributing to initiatives such as cell leader reports, digital production plans, and cycle time tracking.
  • Improvements and Support of Digital Focus Factory Suite: Working on vision systems, packout, traceability, efficiency dashboards, and more.

Education:

  • Minimum Education Required: Some College.
  • Preferred Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or a related field.

Qualified Interns Will Have:

  • Knowledge of programming concepts/programming language (e.g., Python, C#, etc.).
  • A minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Relevant internship or project experience.
  • Experience leading teams or organizations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work is expected.
  • This position will involve equal time at a workstation and on the manufacturing floor.
