About the Job: Kirby Risk Internship Program
The Kirby Risk Internship Program is an intensive 10–12-week development program designed to provide a significant kick-start to your career within our organization.
During the program, you will significantly develop your business acumen and professional relationships by engaging in 2-5 impactful projects and collaborating closely with your internship cohort. Interns are strategically placed in roles that meticulously align with their individual skills and interests, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience.

Responsibilities & Internship Outline:
Based in one of our corporate locations, your internship will immerse you in practical learning through hands-on training, direct job shadowing, and active involvement in 2-5 key projects.
Beyond project work, you will have ample opportunities to participate in various networking events across Kirby Risk, fostering connections with fellow interns and company leaders. These events include:
- Internship Kickoff, featuring tours of our Indianapolis locations.
- Lunch & Learns with our Manufacturing teams in Lafayette.
- Lunch & Learn sessions with our Lafayette Corporate, Electrical Supply, and executive team members.
- A dedicated Service Day for community engagement.
- Additional Networking Events.
- Final Presentations to showcase your project work and learnings.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field relevant to the internship.
- Demonstration of Kirby Risk Values & Principles: Customer Service Excellence, Integrity, Relationships, Team Spirit, Accountability, Passion for Results, Quality, Development, Community & Safety.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage several projects concurrently.
- Ability and willingness to travel 0-25% as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Prior internship experience preferred, but not mandatory.
