Job Title: Internship – Next-Generation SiGe Process & Device Development Engineer

Texas Instruments (TI) is seeking highly motivated interns with a profound passion for process development, device design, and innovation to join one of our dynamic teams across various fabrication sites. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of next-generation SiGe technology, tackling technical challenges related to equipment, processes, and process integration.

As an intern, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in the development of new high-speed SiGe processes and the characterization of CMOS, BJT, and other silicon devices. You will have the privilege of working alongside and learning from some of the leading experts in the industry, playing a critical role in delivering the world’s best high-speed, analog technologies.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities:

Your work may encompass a range of exciting activities, including but not limited to:

Cadence-based Layout and Parameterized PCELL Coding: Develop and implement designs for advanced silicon devices.
Design of Experiments (DOE) Methods: Apply statistical methods to characterize and optimize process or design variables.
Wafer-Level Test Program Development: Create and implement test procedures, alongside performing bench-level testing of components to ensure performance and reliability.
TCAD Simulation of Silicon Devices: Utilize advanced simulation tools to model and improve device performance.
Data Analysis and Analytical Techniques: Employ robust methods to quantify the impact of experiments and design changes.
Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with a wide variety of teams, including Integration, Manufacturing, Reliability, and Modelling, fostering a holistic understanding of the development cycle.
Basic Programming Experience: Develop scripts and tools to efficiently collect data and streamline analytical processes.
Strong Communication and Presentation Skills: Clearly articulate experiment results, insights, and recommendations to technical and leadership teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
Minimum Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of the fundamental theory of operation of silicon CMOS and BJT devices.
Knowledge of fabrication process steps (e.g., diffusion, implantation, oxidation, lithography).
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for critical thinking.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise technical discussions and documentation.
Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate seamlessly with people in different functions and disciplines.
Strong time management skills that ensure on-time project delivery and efficient workflow.
Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships with colleagues and mentors.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, adapting to new challenges and priorities.
Ability to take initiative and drive for results, demonstrating a proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
