Job Title: Internship – Internal Communications for Environmental Consulting

What Is the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is offering an exciting internship opportunity within its Internal Communications team as part of its 2026 Internship Program. This role is designed for students seeking a comprehensive experience in a professional environmental science and engineering consulting firm.
Interns will gain a unique blend of hands-on work and the completion of a defined capstone project relevant to their field of study. There will be significant opportunities for exposure to other service areas within the firm and direct collaboration with senior- and executive-level professionals. By the program’s conclusion, interns will have a solid understanding of the environmental consulting industry.
This internship requires interns to regularly come into an office and may involve fieldwork depending on project requirements.
What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking motivated individuals with the following qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in:
- Communications
- Journalism
- Marketing
- Public Relations
- English
- Or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent written communication skills (2-3 writing samples are required with your application)
- Ability to interpret and simply explain technical information
- Excellent organizational skills
- A project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines
- A strong desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
- A balance of a professional attitude while having fun
What Are the Responsibilities?
The core responsibility is to deliver a defined capstone project, with guidance from senior-level professionals. To support this, interns may be asked to:
- Support the execution of employee-facing emails and articles
- Update and design intranet pages (experience with Simpplr is a plus)
- Conduct research and analysis around audience types, trends, and strategies
- Design branded collateral for internal audiences
- Assist with content planning, presenter coordination, and presentation development for monthly staff meetings
- Create a communications campaign for an upcoming corporate initiative
- Update documents, calendars, schedules, weekly statuses, etc.
What Is the Timeline for the 2026 Internship Program?
Please note these key dates:
- February 9 – February 20: Application submittal period
- March 16 – March 20: Anchor QEA interviews take place nationwide
- March 30 – April 3: Selected candidates receive offers
- May 19: Earliest start date for interns (subject to availability)
