Job Description: Internship in Organic/Polymer Chemistry
This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of more sustainable UV-cured inks for Canon’s Colorado series of printers. The focus is on exploring the potential of click chemistry, specifically thiol-ene or oxime click chemistry, to create functional coatings on PVC or paper.
The specific tasks include:
• Synthesizing and characterizing inks using click chemistry: Evaluating ink stability, curing rate, and recyclability through various techniques like rheometry, IR or NMR spectroscopy.
• Evaluating the mechanical properties of coatings: Correlating these properties with the composition of the ink and its individual components.
• Exploring the use of click chemistry for functional coatings on PVC or paper: This involves investigating the potential for improved durability, adhesion, or other desired properties.
Benefits of this internship:
• Challenging and rewarding work: Gaining hands-on experience in a relevant field with skilled guidance and support.
• Internship/Graduation compensation: €500,- per month
• Travel cost compensation: For those without an OV-weekcard.

• Exposure to a collaborative and innovative environment: The opportunity to work in a company that values teamwork, creativity, and ownership.
Requirements for the internship:
• Research background in chemical synthesis: Preferably in polymer synthesis or click chemistry.
• Experience with materials characterization: Skilled in techniques like NMR, rheometry, DSC, or IR spectroscopy.
• Result-driven and self-motivated: A strong desire to achieve goals and contribute to the project’s success.
• Team player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Availability: At least 4 days per week for a minimum of 5-9 months.
