What Is the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is offering an enriching 2026 Internship Program for students in environmental sciences. This internship provides a unique combination of hands-on fieldwork and a defined capstone project tailored to your scope of study. Interns will gain invaluable exposure to various service areas within our firm, working directly with senior- and principal-level professionals. By the program’s conclusion, you will have developed a solid understanding of environmental consulting, equipped with practical experience and professional insights. Interns will be required to regularly come into an office, with potential opportunities for fieldwork depending on project needs.

What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking highly motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Majoring in a field related to our areas of expertise, such as Environmental Sciences (including chemistry, biology, ecology, marine science, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply technical information.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A strong desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals.
  • The ability to maintain a professional attitude while having fun.

What Are the Responsibilities?

Interns will deliver a defined Capstone Project with guidance from senior engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:

  • Support the implementation of remedial investigations/feasibility studies and design evaluations.
  • Conduct research and analysis related to prospective clients, trends, strategies, industries, and activation needs.
  • Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Aid in research and data entry for new business initiatives.
  • Partner in completing field sampling activities (in-water and/or on land), project field documentation, and preparing figures and tables for project deliverables.
  • Conduct various field activities, including the collection of sediment, soil, water, air, waste, or biota samples, or other field tasks.
  • Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training as required.
  • Update documents, calendars, schedules, and weekly statuses.
