Internship – Construction Management for Environmental Consulting
Location: Syracuse, NY
Compensation: $23.00 / hour
What Is the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking interns for our 2026 Internship Program across a broad range of practice areas. Interns will be required to regularly come into an office and potentially perform fieldwork, depending on project needs.
This program offers:
- A combination of hands-on fieldwork and a defined project within your scope of study.

- Opportunities to work with senior- and principal-level professionals.
- Assistance with project-related tasks.
- Gaining insight into the world of professional consulting.
- A solid understanding of environmental consulting at the conclusion of the program.
What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a field related to our areas of expertise, such as:
- Construction Management
- Environmental Engineering/Science (or related)
- Experience with Field Work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical information.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals.
- Balance of a professional attitude while having fun.
What Are the Responsibilities?
Interns will primarily deliver a Defined Capstone Project with assistance from Senior Engineers, Scientists, Planners, and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:
- Support implementation of remedial investigations/feasibility studies and design evaluations.
- Conduct research and analysis around prospective clients, trends, strategies, industries, activation needs, etc.
- Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing.
- Assist with research and data entry for new business initiatives.
- Partner to complete field sampling activities in-water and/or on land.
- Complete project field documentation and support preparation of figures and tables for project deliverables.
- Conduct field activities, including collection of sediment, soil, water, air, waste, or biota samples or other field tasks.
- Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training as required.
- Update documents, calendars, schedules, weekly statuses, etc.
What Is the Timeline for the 2026 Internship Program?
- February 9 – February 20: Application submittal period
- March 16 – March 20: Anchor QEA interviews take place nationwide
- March 30 – April 3: Selected candidates receive offers
- May 19: Earliest start date for interns (subject to availability)
