About This Job:

At CarMax, interns have the opportunity to research and discover new opportunities, shaping products to fulfill them. This internship focuses on developing tools and technology, learning from CarMax’s experimental spirit and contributing to the performance of the business.

What Are We Looking For:

CarMax seeks interns who bring fresh ideas and diverse experiences to the team. They are looking for individuals with a strong background in areas such as:

• API development
• Data warehousing
• Large-scale system design
• Networking
• Security
• Artificial intelligence
• Data engineering
• Cloud architecture
• Natural language processing
• UI design
• Mobile

What To Expect:

During the 10-week internship, you will:

• Work on real-world projects and contribute to CarMax’s mission.
• Collaborate with teams directly impacting the company.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software for customers and associates.
• Immerse yourself in a fast-paced Agile environment where innovation and collaboration are key.
• Participate in business customer meetings, design sessions, and presentations to Senior Technology Leaders.
• Contribute to products/projects that enable the success of associates.
• Attend social events and volunteer opportunities with other interns and team members.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Passion for learning and developing both soft and technical skills
• Ability and desire to collaborate to solve original, wide-ranging, and open-ended business and technical problems
• Coursework/projects, research, internships or other practical experience in/outside of work
• Computer Science or Business Information Technology Degree preferred
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
