Job Description: Internship
This internship offers candidates a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand experience within the construction industry. Interns will work closely with a Field and/or Office Engineer, providing exposure to various facets of constructing unique and challenging bridge, heavy civil, and marine projects across the United States.
Anticipated Internship Locations for Summer 2025 could include:
• Kansas City, MO
• South Louisiana
• Mobile, AL
Responsibilities and Duties for this internship are dynamic and will vary based on the specific needs of each project. Typically, interns will gain knowledge and experience in key elements of construction, such as:
• Safety protocols and procedures
• Quality assurance and control
• Heavy lift planning
• Construction estimating
• Contract management principles
• Scheduling projects and resources
• Construction inspection
Requirements for prospective interns include:
• Currently completing a course of study in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Possession of solid knowledge of design principles in wood, steel, and concrete.
• Ability to understand design drawings and to effectively express ideas through drawings and sketches.
• General knowledge of the A/E/C (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) industry.
• Being self-motivated with a proven ability to lead collaborative efforts.
• Demonstrating excellent grammar, composition, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• A strong interest in working with an industry-leading self-perform contractor specializing in heavy civil and marine construction.
Travel Requirements for this position involve local travel and occasional trips to visit other jobsites.
