Overview
We are currently seeking Interns for our Transportation Division in Georgia! This is an exceptional opportunity to kickstart your career in the transportation construction industry.
Our comprehensive internship program is designed to prepare you for leadership positions, both on and off the jobsite. This unique program offers the chance to travel across the United States and through various operational divisions, allowing you to gain invaluable hands-on experience in project engineering and field management. We meticulously match you with positions that align with your academic background and career aspirations, setting you on the right career path even before graduation. Our interns contribute significantly, working either on jobsites or within our office-based teams, assisting with pursuits in our estimating and preconstruction departments.
Responsibilities
As an intern, you will gain exposure to multiple career paths within our company and will be trained with the goal of becoming a full-time employee upon college graduation. Some key duties and responsibilities include:
- Assisting project managers or field supervision staff with project coordination, ensuring smooth operations.
- Estimating costs for change orders, developing crucial financial skills.
- Soliciting bidders and coordinating subcontractor activity, learning essential project management.
- Scheduling various contracts and materials, contributing to project timelines.
- Managing document control, ensuring all project documentation is organized and accessible.
- Coordinating subcontractors, fostering effective team collaboration.
- Participating in safety management initiatives, emphasizing our commitment to a safe work environment.
- Actively participating in team meetings, contributing ideas and learning from experienced professionals.
- Writing RFIs (Requests for Information), preparing submittals, and assisting in the processing of change orders, developing core communication and administrative skills.
Qualifications
- Seeking a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- The ability to commit to a 12-week work schedule is preferred, allowing for a comprehensive learning experience.
- Specific roles may require relocation, offering diverse experiences across different project sites.
