Job Description: Internal Audit Internship (AI/GenAI Focus)
AARP’s Internal Audit team seeks interns with strong analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills, along with a passion for experimenting with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI). The internship offers hands-on experience applying AI in a business setting, working with various AARP business units.
Responsibilities:
• Data Exploration and Innovation: Experiment with organizational data, proposing innovative ways for Internal Audit and business users to leverage it.
• Audit Support and Execution: Apply innovative approaches to all audit stages, from planning to conclusions and recommendations.
• Methodology Documentation: Document assumptions, methodology, validation, and testing processes related to audit work.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in discussions with cross-functional teams, contributing business/analytical knowledge to influence solution strategies.
Qualifications:
• Enrolment/Graduation Status: Must be enrolled as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or postdoctoral student at an accredited college/university (and remain enrolled throughout the internship), or be a recent graduate enrolled in a continuing education program.
• Degree Focus: Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Skills and Attributes: Self-starter, adaptable, able to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, proficient in Microsoft Office (Tableau a plus), willing to learn and offer creative solutions, strong communication (verbal/written), critical thinking, data evaluation skills, excellent documentation abilities. Must be able to work effectively with diverse populations.
• AI/GenAI Proficiency: Willingness to learn and apply AI and GenAI techniques.

• Ability to work in an in-office/open office environment.
• Hybrid Work Environment: Mondays and Fridays are typically remote, except for essential functions. Remote work must be conducted within the United States and its territories.
Compensation and Benefits:
• hourly rate: $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates.
• Non-exempt position; not eligible for employee benefits.
