This is a Year Round – R&D Undergrad Intern position at Sandia National Laboratories, promoted by Lensa.

Responsibilities:
• Develop python models to assess the reliability of grid energy storage systems.
• Develop machine learning models to predict the performance and degradation of energy storage systems.
• Develop optimization algorithms to calculate the optimal dispatch for electric grid resources.
• Collect data from deployed energy storage systems for the DOE Global Energy Storage Database.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications:
• Working towards a B.S. in computer science or related field.
• Familiarity with the following programming languages: Java, C, C++, HTML, and CSS.
Team: The Energy Storage Technology and Systems Department is focused on the development of advanced energy storage technologies and systems including the development of low cost battery technologies, safety and reliability of energy storage systems, power electronics and power conversion systems, computational and analytical tools for efficient utilization of energy storage in the electricity infrastructure.
