Job Description – Intern / Trainee

This is an entry-level position within PwC’s Tax services. Interns and trainees work as part of a team, helping to solve complex business problems related to:

Tax Compliance: Ensuring clients meet their tax obligations by adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
Tax Planning: Developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax efficiency.
Tax Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential tax risks for clients.
Tax Disputes: Resolving disagreements with tax authorities.
Tax Accounting and Reporting: Managing tax-related accounting and reporting requirements.

Specific projects you’ll be involved in:

• International tax
• Mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
• State and local tax accounting
• Regulatory processes
• Tax reporting and strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
• Preferred fields of study: Taxation, Accounting
• Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.0
• Certification(s) Preferred: You’ll need to meet all educational requirements for relevant professional licenses before starting full-time.
• Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
• Research and analysis of tax laws, regulations, and client matters.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Self-motivation and commitment to professional development.
• Understanding of federal and state tax laws.
• Ability to research industry trends and develop insights.
• Experience with automation and digitization in professional services.

JD/LLM Opportunities:

SALT: State and Local Tax practice focuses on consulting across a variety of tax areas, including asset management, income/franchise tax planning, dispute resolution, sales and use tax, employment taxes, and more.
Real Estate: Advises clients on federal, local, and international tax matters related to real estate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, investments, etc.).
ITS: International Tax Services helps clients manage their global tax needs, including cross-border tax issues, global tax rates, and regulatory compliance.
M&A: Merger and Acquisition Tax practice assists clients with various aspects of M&A transactions, including restructuring, divestiture, and partnerships.
