Job Description: Intern/Trainee, Tax Services
This is an entry-level position for individuals seeking a career in tax services. As an intern or trainee, you will be part of a team of problem solvers, working on projects related to:
• International Tax: Assisting clients with their cross-border tax needs, including managing global tax rates, finding cost reductions, and navigating regulatory inquiries.
• Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Advising clients on the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, divestitures, partnerships, and insolvencies. This includes helping establish treasury goals, analyzing tax assets, assessing risks, and modeling income and cash flow impacts.
• State and Local Tax (SALT): Providing consulting across a range of state and local tax areas, including asset management, income/franchise tax planning, dispute resolution, sales and use tax, employment taxes, identifying credits and incentives, and abandoned and unclaimed property.
• Real Estate Tax: Advising clients on their federal, local, and overseas tax affairs related to real estate deals and transactions. This can involve partnership tax, corporate tax, state and local tax, international tax, tax treaty analysis, REIT taxation, and other areas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Researching and analyzing tax laws, rules, regulations, and pertinent client, industry, and technical matters.
• Interacting with clients and firm management through written and verbal communications.
• Supporting research, analysis, and problem-solving using various tools and techniques.
• Producing high-quality work that adheres to professional standards.
• Keeping up-to-date with technical developments in tax law.
• Handling, manipulating, and analyzing data responsibly.
• Communicating effectively in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.

Essential Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate (JD)
• 0 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred Fields of Study: Taxation, Accounting
• Preferred Cumulative GPA: 3.0
• Relevant certifications (obtained before starting full-time)
