About PwC’s Risk Modeling Services Practice
PwC’s Risk Modeling Services practice provides general insurance advice and consulting services to a diverse clientele including insurers, banks, regulators, and third-party administrators. The team specializes in offering expert guidance on a wide range of crucial areas, including:
• Solvency and Economic Capital: Analyzing and managing financial risks to ensure the long-term stability of insurance companies.
• Risk Management: Developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies for clients across various industries.
• Mergers and Acquisitions: Providing financial and strategic guidance for mergers and acquisitions within the insurance sector.
• Company Restructuring and Risk Control: Assisting clients with restructuring operations and improving risk control measures.
• Financial Modeling: Creating sophisticated financial models to assess business performance, predict future outcomes, and support strategic decision-making.
• Underwriting: Advising on underwriting processes, risk assessment, and pricing strategies.
• New Legislation: Analyzing and navigating the impact of new regulations on insurance companies’ operations and financial reporting.
• Claims and Reporting Process Efficiency: Optimizing claims processing and reporting systems for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
The team also plays a crucial role in helping clients navigate new financial reporting requirements by:
• Assessing the financial and business impacts of regulations.

Job Description: Intern / Trainee in Risk Modeling Services
As an intern/trainee in PwC’s Risk Modeling Services practice, you will join a team of problem solvers dedicated to addressing complex business issues. You will contribute to projects from strategy development to execution, gaining valuable experience in the industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting select projects: Demonstrate creative thinking, individual initiative, and teamwork while contributing to impactful projects.
• Building relationships: Developing strong relationships with team members and fostering collaboration.
• Proactively seeking guidance: Seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback from experienced professionals.
• Prioritizing tasks: Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks while maintaining a professional and skeptical approach.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing the Associateship of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associateship of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).
• Desired Knowledge and Skills:
• Basic understanding of actuarial science, applied statistics, risk and capital management, value analysis, and financial reporting standards.
• Passion for a career in actuarial consulting.
• Strong creative problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Client Service Intern Positions:
• Client service intern positions are entry-level opportunities for individuals typically in their third year of a four-year degree program or their fourth year of a five-year program.
• Interns typically join during the winter/spring or summer semesters preceding their intended graduation year.
Compensation and Benefits:
• The salary range for this position is $30.75 – $40.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
