PwC’s Risk Modeling Services practice provides general insurance advice and consulting services to a diverse clientele including insurers, banks, regulators, and third-party administrators. Our team assists clients in navigating complex financial and regulatory landscapes, offering expertise across various areas, such as:
• Solvency and Economic Capital: Assessing and managing an organization’s financial stability and risk appetite.
• Risk Management: Developing and implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks.
• Mergers and Acquisitions: Providing financial and risk-related due diligence for M&A transactions.
• Company Restructuring and Risk Control: Assisting in streamlining operations and improving risk management practices during corporate restructuring.
• Financial Modeling: Building and utilizing financial models to analyze business performance and potential outcomes.
• Underwriting: Providing expertise on pricing and risk assessment for insurance products.
• New Legislation: Evaluating the impact of new regulations on clients’ operations and assisting with implementation.

Intern/Trainee Role Description

Job Requirements and Preferences
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree
• Required Fields of Study: Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics
• Additional Educational Requirements: Other quantitative fields of study may be considered.
• Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years
Preferred Qualifications:
• Additional Educational Preferences: Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3; Preferred major GPA: 3.3
• Client Service Intern: Typically, candidates are in their 3rd year of a 4-year degree program or in the 4th year of a 5-year program. Internships are usually during the winter/spring or summer prior to graduation.
• Certification(s) Preferred: Demonstrated active interest in pursuing the Associateship of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associateship of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
• Basic understanding of actuarial science, applied statistics, risk and capital management, value analyses, and financial reporting standards.
• Interest in pursuing a career in actuarial consulting.
• Strong creative problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with various levels of client and firm management.
