About the Company:
Disney Entertainment (DE) Subscriber Planning is a team within Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer division. This team comprises professionals with diverse backgrounds in consulting, investment banking, private equity, media & entertainment, and technology. They act as internal advisors to executive leadership, focusing on subscriber and engagement growth planning and reporting. Their work has significantly contributed to the growth of the Direct-to-Consumer business.
Job Description:
This internship offers support in driving a coordinated understanding of subscriber profitability and customer lifecycle within Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer business. The intern will contribute to identifying key business issues and developing solutions through collaboration with cross-functional teams. Specific responsibilities include:
• Supporting the subscriber forecasting process: Analyzing key metrics and indicators, working with various departments outside of finance.
• Conducting ad hoc analyses: Investigating pricing strategies, product launches, partnerships, and promotional offers to provide business recommendations.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the business: Staying current on global operating performance, partnerships, promotions, content releases, product changes, pricing strategies, challenges, and industry trends in the streaming business. Reporting findings to key stakeholders.
• Creating impactful presentations: Developing compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, etc.) to effectively communicate subscriber projections, performance, and risks/opportunities to leadership.
• Modeling subscriber and engagement growth: Developing and tracking KPIs to drive execution and operational improvement.
• Identifying new business and product opportunities: Contributing to the exploration of new ventures and product development.
• Deep-diving on profitability and pricing strategies: Analyzing and contributing to the optimization of pricing models and profitability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with budget and forecasting analysis.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong data analytics skills and the ability to present findings clearly.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments, manages multiple projects efficiently, prioritizes tasks effectively, and adapts to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in the entertainment industry.
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university (or recent graduate within 6 months of application) studying Economics, Business, Entertainment, or a related field.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Minimum age of 18.
• No prior completion of a year of continuous employment in a Disney internship or program.
• Unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information:
The internship is anticipated to run from May 2025 to August 2025, requiring a 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday, 9 am – 6 pm PST) on-site in Santa Monica, CA. Interns must secure their own housing and transportation. The hourly rate is $22. Select benefits may be available.
